Sorry for the lack in updating

I am sorry for the lack in updating you on the status of the SPFD L21 Honor Guard.  We have been very busy!  We have increased our numbers of honor guard members!  We are all now in the "throw back" uniform of our historic brothers.  We have also gained a Bass drummer and a Snare drummer, along with the current bagpiper.  We have been very involved with all of the departments graduations, events and funerals.

On September 17th - 21st there will be several of our members driving to the IAFF Fallen Firefighter Memorial located in Colorado Springs.  We will be carpooling in a 15 passenger van and renting a house.  We could not have done this with out the help of Local 21, L21 Pull tabs, Waterous CO. and the Trudeau family.  I will update with pictures and an after action report when we return.

Class A uniform

SPFD Honor Guard is currently under transition from a polyester uniform to our historical, wool uniform.  Firefighters pride themselves on their rich history and traditions.  We are setting the building blocks for the resurrection of our original fire department uniform.  The retro uniforms have ceased their production back in the 1960's; and since then we have not had a legitimate Class A uniform.  With the Honor Guard and rank and file using the same uniform, it will be easy for members to join our prestigious ranks.  There will be some minor differences such as the hat, belt, and shoulder braid to distinguish the Honor Guard from other personnel.
